BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Mount Vernon man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Bellingham last year.

Court documents state that the victim and a friend were in the parking lot of the Underground Nightclub on October 29th.

Surveillance video showed a car driving past the club and at least two shots were fired from the passenger side.

The victim was shot in the stomach and was taken to the hospital.

Police were able to track the owner of the car to Mount Vernon.

The victim was able to identify the driver in a photo lineup, telling investigators that the driver had gotten into a fight with his friend earlier that evening.

Police arrested the driver, 22-year-old Emanuel Martinez Lucero, and booked him into the Whatcom County Jail on Tuesday, March 28th.
