WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – A search and rescue team from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island rescued a snowmobiler who was injured in an accident near Mount Baker on Saturday, April 1.

The helicopter crew responded after receiving the call for assistance just after 3:30 p.m.

Two crew members were hoisted to the scene and stabilized the patient who was unconscious and had a restricted airway.

They hoisted the snowmobiler aboard at 5:23 p.m. and got them to the hospital in Bellingham about 15 minutes later.

The person’s condition hasn’t been released.
