OLYMPIA, WA. – (KGMI.com) A new poll reveals that Washington voters are feeling anxious about the upcoming presidential election.
Crosscut/Elway polled over 400 registered voters across the state to preview their thoughts on the current state of the country and preferences on presidential candidates.
Nearly 20% of respondents said they were worried or scared when asked to describe their feelings about the upcoming election.
Another question asking respondents to grade how well America’s political system is working had 62% give it a D or an F and 12% give it an A or a B.
President Joe Biden saw an edge in the poll with 39% saying they would be inclined to vote for him compared to 29% for GOP favorite Donald Trump.
22% of respondents said they would vote for someone else.
Democrats still have the advantage in Washington with 45% saying they are inclined to vote blue for Congress in their district compared to 35% voting Republican.
Immigration and the economy were the top issues on the minds of voters in the poll.
