BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A new trial date has been set for three Bellingham school administrators accused of failing to report a sexual assault.
A status hearing for the case will be held on December 7th before the trial begins with jury selection on December 11th.
The trial was postponed last month after the defense team received a 67-page report from a new detective on the case with a significant amount of additional information.
All three administrators have pleaded not guilty to gross misdemeanor charges of failing to report a student’s sexual assault to police or protective services.
Two of them, each assistant principals at Squalicum High School, returned to their roles over the summer after being reassigned to district headquarters after charges were filed.
