NOOKSACK, WA. – (KGMI.com) A Nooksack man was arrested in connection to a domestic violence incident on Thanksgiving.

Everson Police say a 68-year-old woman ran to her neighbor’s house covered in blood around 8:45 pm on November 23rd.

She said the suspect beat her with a metal pole after getting upset about a colleague bringing him a Thanksgiving meal.

The woman was later brought to a hospital where she was treated for multiple broken bones.

She said the suspect was last seen in her house and had lived there for the last two months.

Police arrested the suspect, 34-year-old Shawn Landden, who spit on an officer multiple times during the arrest.

Landden also had an existing warrant for violating a domestic violence protection order.

He remains at the Whatcom County Jail on over $250,000 bail.
