NORTH CASCADES, Wash. – Snow clearing on the North Cascades Highway continues with crews breaking through to Washington Pass.
WSDOT has brought in a heavy bulldozer to help with clearing the stretch of Highway 20 over the Cascades that’s closed each winter.
The department says a couple of weeks work is still needed for clearing and road repairs.
Cleared areas beyond the closure gates are open for bike riders and other recreation on weekends.
But WSDOT warns to watch for hazards and to check with the Northwest Avalanche Center for avalanche danger before heading out.
