NEWHALEM, Wash. – A portion of Highway 20 has closed again as crews continue to tackle the Sourdough wildfire.
WSDOT announced the closure was in effect as of 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th.
The roadway is closed for a 26-mile stretch between Newhalem and the area just past the East Creek Trailhead.
Fire crews implemented the closure as aerial firefighting operations continue.
State Route 20 had reopened on Wednesday, August 9th, following an extensive closure.
There is no ETA for the roadway’s reopening.
