OLYMPIA, WA. – More than $6 million in grants is up for grabs for farmers, ranchers and other local food distributers.
The Washington State Department of Agriculture says applications opened on Monday, October 9th, for their Local Food System Infrastructure program.
Funds are available to farmers, ranchers, food businesses or non-profit organizations that distribute locally based food for Washington consumers.
They can be used towards planning, equipment or facilities that support the regional food supply chain.
Grant amounts range from $10,000 to $500,000 and are awarded based on the proposed project’s alignment with the purpose of the grant and its achievability.
Applications are due by November 15th.
