DEMING, WA. – (KGMI.com) A crash in Deming sent a passenger to the hospital and the driver to jail.

The Washington State Patrol says the crash happened on the Mount Baker Highway near Marshall Hill Road just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 14th.

A car heading east left the road and crashed into a tree.

The passenger, a 74-year-old Maple Falls woman, was injured and taken to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham.

Police arrested the driver, 45-year-old Tatiana Dillard of Maple Falls, on a vehicular assault charge.

WSP believes drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
