BELLINGHAM, Wash. – PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center is celebrating the opening of two new surgery suites that will expand their capacity and ability to treat complex cases.

A state-of-the-art hybrid suite is opening this week.

It features advanced imaging technology that will allow local surgeons to perfom highly complex cases that were previously referred to other facilitites.

A non-hybrid suite opened last week. and the two additions bring the number of surgery suites at St. Joe’s to 10.

That will allow an average of 740 cases per month, up from 680.

The hospital’s last operating rooms were completed in 2003, and planning for these suites began in 2006.
