FERNDALE, WA. – (KGMI.com) The report of an armed robbery in Ferndale last month has now been determined to be a false report.

Ferndale Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Starvin’ Sam’s Mini Mart on Barrett Road on September 24th.

An employee told them that three suspects showed a firearm while demanding money.

Police Chief Kevin Turner now says further investigation into the robbery revealed that the employee had falsely reported it.

No further information has been provided, as the incident is still under investigation for possible charges.

Turner says he issued the update to inform the public that no armed suspects are robbing Ferndale businesses.
