BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Police tracked a suspect in a shooting in Mount Vernon last month to a home in Bellingham.

Mount Vernon Police detectives investigating a March 7th robbery took an 18-year-old into custody and identified another suspect.

They noted similarities between the suspects in that case and a shooting on March 13th that left two people injured.

Two men and two women were in a car when three men approached and opened fire before fleeing in that incident.

Investigators identified 18-year-old Erik Martinez-Santiago of Mount Vernon as the second suspect in both crimes.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s SWAT team arrested him last Thursday, April 20th, at a home on West Mcleod Road in Bellingham.

A third 18-year-old suspect in the shooting was taken into custody in Mount Vernon on Friday.
