The Whatcom County Auditor has released an initial count of ballots in the August 1st top-two primary.

Leading the race for Whatcom County Executive are incumbent Satpal Sidhu with almost 35% of the vote, followed by Dan Purdy with 28%.

State representative Alicia Rule is in third place, followed by Whatcom County Council chair Barry Buchanan.

Kathy Kershner and Mark Stremler are comfortably ahead in the race for Whatcom County Council District 4.

John Scanlon and Hannah Ordos are the top two vote getters so far in the council At-Large Position B seat, followed by Atul Deshmane.

 

Incumbent Seth Fleetwood is leading the race for Bellingham mayor, followed by political newcomer Kim Lund.

Former Port of Bellingham commissioner Mike McAuley and city council member Kristina Michele Martens are running third and fourth.

Hannah Stone and Eamonn Collins are comfortably ahead in the race for City Council Ward 1.

Jace Cotton and Russ Whidbee are the top vote getters in the Council-At-Large race at this point.

The top-two vote getters from each of these races will go on to the general election ballot in November.
