FERNDALE, WA. – (KGMI.com) A repeat offender is back in custody after attempting to escape from police.

Whatcom County Sheriff Chief Deputy Rodger Funk says that deputies attempted to pull the suspect over on Friday night.

The suspect drove off, but the vehicle was later found off the road near I-5 and Slater Road.

Deputies later learned that the suspect, 36-year-old Kelly Olson, had several warrants for his arrest.

Two of those were for previous attempts to escape police.

Olson was arrested and remains at the Whatcom County Jail on over $390,000 bail.
