BELLINGHAM, Wash. – It is common knowledge that rents in Bellingham keep going up and a new report shows just how much.

Rental website Dwellsy crunched the rental numbers on properties in 250 large and medium metro areas around the country.

Not only is Bellingham one of the most expensive places to rent in Washington state, rental rates here rival those of Portland, Atlanta and Tampa.

Dwellsy reports that the median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Bellingham is $1,400, an 8% increase over the past year.

The only markets higher in Washington are Olympia at $1,600 and Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue at a median of $1,750.
