A Thurston County animal shelter is looking for homes for over a hundred cats.

The Olympian reports donations for Joint Animal Services have poured in over recent days, but the shelter’s capacity is still strained.

As of last Thursday, officers had rescued 159 cats from a property where they were found with little food or water after a resident was evicted.

JAS has the capacity for 95 animals, though their executive director says they’ve recently had to care for upwards of 250.
