BIRCH BAY, WA – Deputies with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office recovered about $45,000 worth of stolen bicycles on Wednesday.

The Sheriff’s Office says they received a tip about numerous stolen bikes being held in a residence in the Birch Bay area.

An investigation found 15 high-end mountain bikes and electric bikes valued at about $45,000 in total.

A 16-year-old juvenile male was later arrested and booked into Whatcom County Juvenile Detention.

Many of the bikes are still in the process of being returned to their owners.
