MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – Two Skagit County women have pled guilty to kidnapping a foster child in their care.

Amanda Dinges and her mother, Amber Dinges, were also sentenced in Skagit County Superior Court on Thursday, March 23rd, according to court records.

The five-year-old boy placed in Amanda’s care was reported missing on November 29th, and investigators later learned that the Dingeses had left the country with the child.

The boy was found in Vietnam and taken into U.S. custody on December 14th.

The women were arrested and extradited shortly afterwards.

Amber will spend the next six months in prison, while Amanda was handed a one-year sentence.
