BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) Be on the lookout for a light show in the sky in the coming days.

The annual Geminids Meteor Shower is beginning its peak around 7 p.m. Wednesday night through Thursday night.

It will include about 120 meteors per hour going 22 miles per second through the night sky.

NASA considers the event one of the best and most reliable meteor showers of the year.

Astronomer Gary Boyle adds that this is a uniquely clear year to see the showers.

Boyle advises finding a viewing spot away from city lights and to lie on your back with your feet facing south.

Wait about half an hour for your eyes to adjust and you will start to see the show.
