SEATTLE, Wash. – Smoke from the Sourdough wildfire in rural Whatcom County made its way towards Seattle over the weekend.
KIRO reports that the air quality around the Seattle metro area was listed as “moderate” Sunday morning due to the smoke.
Air quality levels returned back to normal by the afternoon as winds pushed the smoke out from the city.
The Sourdough Fire has now burned over 1900 acres in eastern Whatcom County since July 29th.
Officials have contained about 5% of the fire so far.
