MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – There is more rental assistance coming for some local residents.
The Washington State Department of Commerce is making $2 million of eviction prevention funds available for Skagit County residents.
It is the fourth round of state funding aimed at addressing evictions during the pandemic.
Since September 2020, Skagit County has given more than $19 million to landlords and utilities to help around 3,000 households avoid being evicted.
To be eligible for the funding, applicants must have a missed or past due rent payment since March 1st, 2020, and have a household income at or below 80 percent of the area’s median income.
