BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Blood donations remain in high demand this summer.

Bloodworks Northwest says that they urgently need to fill 2,500 donation slots by the end of the month in order to keep up with that demand.

They told KOMO that they need 800 to 1,000 donations a day to make sure their blood supplies do not run out.

Anyone in good health over the age of 18 can donate blood every 56 days.

Teens age 16 and 17 can also donate with a signed permission form.
