BELLINGHAM, WA – A new study lists Seattle as one of the greenest cities in the country.

WalletHub analyzed 28 key indicators of environmental friendliness and sustainability to rank the 100 largest cities in the US.

Seattle placed fifth overall, just behind fellow West Coast cities San Diego and Portland.

They had the second-highest score for lifestyle and policy, but ranked 37th for their actual environment.

Nine out of the top 12 cities in the study are on the West Coast, including seven from California.
