BELLINGHAM, WA. – (KGMI.com) A Whatcom County man was arrested following an alleged sexual assault earlier this year.

Bellingham Police say that officers were alerted to the assault in March after the victim went to the police station.

She told investigators that she had attended a gathering with friends at an apartment on Samish Way and spent the night there.

The suspect is accused of sexually assaulting her that night.

Police arrested the suspect, 24-year-old Bao Nguyen, on Friday, October 20th.

He was released from the Whatcom County Jail on Monday after posting $20,000 bail.
