BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham woman remains in custody after allegedly stabbing a person she falsely accused of stealing from her.
The victim told officers that the suspect, 42-year-old Anna McGee, began arguing with them near the Rite Aid on Magnolia Street on Friday night, March 10th.
According to court documents, McGee pepper sprayed the victim, and their altercation became physical.
After putting McGee in a headlock, the victim told officers that the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed them in the neck and face.
Police contacted McGee near the scene of the attack, who claimed that she had acted out of self-defense because the victim had stolen from her.
Officers found the alleged stolen items in the suspect’s backpack.
McGee remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $15,000 bail.
