BLAINE, Wash. – An 18-year-old Bellingham man and a 17-year-old boy charged in drive-by shootings near Ferndale early Monday, July 24th, are now also suspects in a drive-by in Blaine.

Blaine Police and sheriff’s detectives have been investigating gunshots heard by residents in the area of Bayview and Mary Avenue that same morning.

No bullets were initially found, and no one appeared to be injured, but a resident on Bayview later reported finding bullet holes in their home.

Sheriff’s Office detectives developed probable cause for more charges against 18-year-old Alejandro Villa Herrera and the male juvenile involved in the earlier shootings near Ferndale.

They will face additional counts of Drive by Shooting and charges of Assault 2nd degree and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

The gun used in the shootings was reported stolen from Bonney Lake in February.

Motivation for the shootings has not yet been determined as the investigation continues.
