BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County SWAT teams were called to help detain a man accused of assaulting a stranger.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said that the victim got into an argument with the suspect at a home near Marietta on July 5th.

The suspect allegedly struck the victim several times with a large flashlight, then took their phone and broke it.

SWAT teams were called because the suspect, 38-year-old Oba Little, has a history of resisting arrest and assaulting law enforcement officials.

Little was taken into custody and remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $100,000 bail.
