MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – The largest health care provider in Skagit County will ask voters to okay a new property tax levy to help fund their services.

Go Skagit reports Skagit Regional Health will be on the ballot in an election on April 25th.

The levy would set a tax at 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value.

The public hospital district does not currently collect property taxes, but says increased costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic require it to ask for the funding.
