MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Tesla is coming to Western Washington.
The electric car manufacturer has acquired a huge new warehouse at the Cascade Industrial Center in Marysville.
The building has more square feet of space than four football fields, and speculation is running rampant about what Tesla might be planning for the facility.
The Puget Sound Business Journal reports it will be used for parts assembly, but the company has not verified that.
Online Tesla news publisher Teslarati reports others speculate that it could be used to store components or completed vehicles, or be networked with a planned Canadian factory.
This is the first building completed and leased in Marysville’s new industrial park, which is expected to provide 11,000 new jobs in a number of industries by 2040.
