The Kraken won their second straight game for the first time in nearly a month.

They beat rookie phenom Conor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks 7-1 last night on KPUG.

Kailer Yamamoto scored the first two goals of the game and the Kraken tied their season total for most goals in a game to take the win.

It was the Blackhawks’ eighth straight road loss as they maintain the worst record in the league.

Next up for the Kraken is a match against the LA Kings as Seattle looks to win their third straight game for the first time this season.

Coverage begins at 6:30 and puck drops at 7 tomorrow night on KGMI.

The Western Washington University women’s basketball team had their five-game win streak snapped.

They lost to Dominican 74-69 last night.

The Vikings led by eight at halftime, but managed just nine points in the third quarter as Dominican staged a second-half comeback.

Brooke Walling had 11 points in the loss, she’s just 6 away from reaching 1,000 career points.

She’ll look to hit that milestone tomorrow as the Vikings play Cal State East Bay at 1 pm.

Meanwhile, the Vikings men’s team is back in action over the weekend.

They’re hosting George Fox on Sunday as they look to win their fifth straight game.

They’re averaging 111 points per game over the win streak and are coming off a massive 54-point statement win last weekend in which they put up 124 points.

Tip off for Sunday’s game is at 3 pm at Carver Gym.

The Washington Huskies also have a pair of basketball games this weekend.

The undefeated women’s team plays tomorrow as they look to make their case for a spot in the AP Top 25.

They’re hosting Saint Mary’s at 1 pm.

Then the men’s team is at Seattle University on Sunday as they look to follow up on their big upset win over Gonzaga last weekend.

That game tips off at 5 pm.
