The Seattle Kraken hit their biggest win streak of the season last night on KPUG.

They beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 thanks to Alex Wennberg’s game-winning goal six minutes into the third period.

Chris Driedger made 37 saves for the Kraken in his first NHL start in nearly 20 months.

Seattle now pushes their win streak to three straight games and have gotten points in their last seven.

They’ll look to continue their success tomorrow night as they host the Philadelphia Flyers on KPUG.

The Mariners finalized a deal to sign former Rangers catcher Mitch Garver today.

The contract is for two years, $24 million.

The 32-year-old Garver hit .270 with 19 HR’s and 50 RBI’s last year for Texas.

He’ll join Cal Raleigh in what will be one of the premier catcher duos in the league for Seattle.

Early reports indicate Garver will slot in as the team’s designated hitter.

The Denver Broncos are benching former Seahawk star QB Russell Wilson.

Broncos coach Sean Payton informed the team of the change yesterday and said the biggest reason for the decision was “to get a spark offensively.”

Next season marks the first year of Wilson’s five-year, $242.6 million extension.

Denver will now start Jarrett Stidham, who will get just the third start of his four-year career in the NFL.
