SEATTLE, Wash. – Researchers from University of Washington Medicine and Kaiser Permanente in Portland are recruiting adults and children in the Pacific Northwest to take part in a study to test COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness.

The researchers need 3,500 people aged six months to 49 years for the study, with the primary goal being how well the vaccines protect children between 5 and 18 years old.

The effects of the COVID virus and its variants on different age groups and demographics will also be studied.

The research will follow the participants for four years.

They will self-test weekly at home and will also be screened for RSV and the flu.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated people are needed, but no vaccines will be given through the study.
