WSDOT is warning travelers using ferries this 4th of July weekend to prepare for possible last-minute schedule changes.
They’re encouraging the use of online tools to stay updated on wait times and potential cancellations.
Washington State Ferries are staffed at the minimum required levels, so just one missing crewmember could suspend a ferry from operating.
WSF also has only one spare vessel, so any unexpected mechanical issues could cancel a trip.
WSDOT recommends signing up for rider alerts and checking terminal conditions to navigate any late cancellations.
