BELLINGHAM, WA – Whatcom Water Week kicks off this Saturday with the 11th annual Run with the Chums 5K Fun Run.

The 5K is free for all ages and begins 10 a.m. at the BP Highlands in Blaine, kids 10 and under can participate in the Smolt Sprint obstacle course that will start at 9:45 a.m.

Whatcom Water Week is organized by the Whatcom Watersheds Information Network bringing opportunities to learn more about our local water supply.

Other events during the week will include guided tours of our county’s wastewater treatment plants, wildlife viewing at local parks, story time at Bellingham Library and much more.
