NORTH CASCADES, Wash. – While our temperatures cool down a bit over the next few days, winter returns to the mountains.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Cascades of Whatcom and Skagit Counties and further south.

One to two feet of new snow is possible between Friday afternoon, March 31st and Sunday evening.

Travel to Eastern Washington could be difficult as Stevens and Snoqualmie Passes are in the watch area.

Local skiers and snowboards should welcome the news as the Mount Baker Ski Area is also expected to get a lot of new snow.
