BELLINGHAM, Wash. – You’ve probably noticed that gas prices have bounced back up a bit.

Triple-A reports our local gas prices jumped up almost 10-cents per gallon over the past week.

Our current average is about $4.59 per gallon for regular, up from $4.49 a week ago.

Industry analyst Patrick DeHaan with Gasbuddy.com attributes the increase here and around the nation to some minor refinery problems and low gasoline supplies.

He expects prices to start to drop again soon.

But he warns that a credit-ceiling deal between the White House and congress could actually drive prices back up, as consumers stop worrying about the economy and start driving more.
