BELLINGHAM, Wash. – An osteopathic physician and surgeon in Whatcom County had his license restricted after allegations of failing standards regarding pain medication management.
Dr. Gregory Sharp runs the office in Bellingham where he practices as a pain management specialist.
The Washington State Department of Health announced The Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery restricted Sharp’s license after charging that his treatment of patients fell beneath the standard of care.
DOH guidelines state that such specialists must provide patients with a careful assessment of risk involved in the misuse of controlled substances for pain.
Sharp cannot practice in Washington until the charges are resolved, and he has 20 days to request a hearing to contest the charges.
