BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Beginning July 10th, Western Washington University will join a growing list of campuses across the country becoming smoke-free.

The new rule will ban smoking of any kind, including vaping, across all campus property.

The WWU Board of Trustees approved the measure last week, citing health concerns over secondhand smoke and an increased concern with respitory health brought on by the pandemic.

Enforcement plans for the ban are currently under review.
