WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – 27 arts organizations from Whatcom County have been awarded over $300,000 in grants.
The grants are part of a $10 million investment by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation on Tuesday, May 21, that was issued through ArtsFund’s Community Accelerator program.
Bellingham Chamber Chorale, Children of the Setting Sun Productions, Make.Shift Art Space and the Lummi Nation all received the highest grant amount of $25,000. Other noteworthy grant recipients include Pickford Film Center, Allied Arts of Whatcom County and the Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth.
It was the second year of the Community Accelerator Grant program, which awarded grants to more than 800 organizations across the state. Most of the grant money will likely be used to fund programming and staff salaries.
