BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Changes are on the horizon for some airline staff at Bellingham International Airport.

The Port of Bellingham (POB) says that Allegiant Airlines’ crew base in Bellingham will shut down in November.

POB Aviation Director Matt Rodriguez says that the change will not impact any flights out of Bellingham.

“This decision is related to how Allegiant organizes its internal operations, not its commitment to the traveling public of Whatcom County,” said Matt Rodriguez, Director of Aviation at Bellingham International Airport. “Allegiant will continue to serve BLI, and passengers will see no change to routes or service.”

That means that instead of having permanent work assignments for flight attendants and pilots, the airline will be rotating between Allegiant’s other bases.

Allegiant currently offers direct services to Oakland, Burbank, Palm Springs, Las Vegas and Phoenix out of Bellingham.
