BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Your train ride across the Pacific Northwest is getting a major upgrade next year.
Amtrak announced on Tuesday, Feb. 10 that it’s planning to roll out a new generation of trains called the “Airo Fleet” on its Cascades route.
The upgraded trains will boast an increased capacity with more comfort and reliability for riders.
All eight trainsets are expected to be built by the end of this year and go into service on the Cascades route in 2027.
Amtrak says it plans to eventually deploy 83 of the new Airo trainsets across the country in the coming years.
