BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Local cyclists will have a great chance to try out the new bike lanes in downtown Bellingham this weekend.

The city is hosting its annual May Bike Parade on Sunday, May 5.

Bikers will meet at 2 p.m. on Jersey Street between Holly and Chestnut before riding down Holly Street to Waypoint Park with a police escort.

The ride will take place rain or shine. Bike decorations and costumes are both encouraged, though helmets are still required.

The city recently finished installation of the new bike lane on Holly Street as part of its pilot program that will last throughout the summer.
