BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The swimming advisory at Taylor Dock in Bellingham has been lifted.

Whatcom County Health and Community Services revised the advisory for the southern end of Boulevard Park Thursday – about three weeks after it was issued.

New water samples have shown lower levels of fecal bacteria at the shoreline and the dock, reducing the risk for water-borne pathogens.

The public is still being advised to avoid the outfall near Bennett Avenue where fecal bacteria levels remain above the safe limit. Testing in the area will continue throughout the summer.

The no-contact advisory for Little Squalicum Park is still in effect.
