LYNDEN, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Lynden City Councilmember is no longer facing charges related to a domestic incident last year.

Court documents state that an assault charge against Councilmember Gary Vis was dismissed as of Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Vis was accused of assaulting a family member at a home in Lynden in January 2024. Had the charges not been dropped, a jury trial would have moved forward in March 2025.

In addition to his city council position, Vis also serves as the Executive Director for the Lynden Chamber of Commerce.
