BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) Here is a new one in traffic related news: Beavers.
In a Facebook post, Bellingham Police say they responded to reports of multiple beavers blocking traffic on Aldrich Road on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 29.
When they arrived, one of the beavers had fled the scene but a second beaver that appeared to be injured was still in the roadway.
Officers contacted the Whatcom Humane Society and Fish and Wildlife for assistance, but the second beaver disappeared into the brush along the road before they arrived to help.
Later that evening, the beaver reappeared near Meridian and Telegraph Road creating another traffic hazard.
Officers took the beaver into custody at that point and were able to transport it to Fish and Wildlife safely.
