Bellingham, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man is in custody after deputies recovered drugs intended for sale from his vehicle.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater said that the suspect was pulled over on W Axton Road early Friday morning.
Deputies found that the suspect, 26-year-old Carlos Velazquez-Martinez, had several active misdemeanors warrants and was driving on a suspended license.
As he was being arrested, deputies noticed drug paraphernalia inside the car. They later recovered baggies of methamphetamine and a bottle of oxycodone pills from the vehicle, along with $1,300 cash.
Velazquez-Martinez was booked and released from the Whatcom County Jail within the span of an hour.
