BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man is in custody after threatening several law enforcement employees over the phone.

Police spokesperson Megan Peters says the suspect called 911 late Saturday night and demanded to speak with a specific officer.

The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Stephen Findley, threatened to destroy the officer for charging him with phone harassment earlier this year. Peters said that Findley had called 911 repeatedly over a six-day period in May to report an alleged money laundering incident.

During each phone call, Findley swore and screamed at dispatchers and officers. He was warned not to call in the incident again or he would face charges.

Peters says that telephone harassment charges were filed against Findley on May 27.

He now faces an additional intimidation charge and remains at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
