BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bellingham Police Department’s bike patrol is back on the streets.
The Bellingham Police Department (BPD) said that the team of five began their first shift in downtown Bellingham this morning (Tues).
It’s been several years since the unit patrolled the streets of Bellingham, but the city council opted to fund the Bicycle Unit with the 2025 budget, bringing officers on bikes back to Bellingham.
The sergeant and four officers of the bike patrol will primarily work within the downtown area, with additional coverage in parts of the waterfront and areas near the Lighthouse Mission.
