BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – Bellingham Police are welcoming three new officers to the department.

The Bellingham Police Department (BPD) says the new hires took the oath of office at a ceremony yesterday on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Officer Larranaga grew up in Bellingham, graduated from Squalicum High School and attended Whatcom Community College where he played soccer.

Officer Masterson is also from Bellingham and graduated from Sehome High School. He then served in the U.S. Marines Corps before graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in history.

And Warrant Officer Ellsworth, who’s from Port Angeles, worked as a corrections deputy for 23 years at the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office before being hired by BPD.

All three officers say they are excited to join the BPD team and look forward to serving the community.
