BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – The City of Bellingham wants you to know there will be an opportunity to give feedback on the emergency landmark tree ordinance during the city council’s regular meeting Monday, July 15.
The tree ordinance was enacted May 20 and created fines ranging from $800 to $5,000 to anyone removing or damaging a landmark tree, it also establishes a landmark tree inventory and a permit process for removals.
A landmarked tree is defined by having a trunk diameter of 36 inches or greater at breast height that is in a healthy growing condition.
